Installation Methods
Tactile Solution’s stainless steel tactile indicators can be fixed to the substrate either with an adhesive or mechanically with screws.
In the adhesive fixing method, firstly a two-part epoxy adhesive is applied to the substrate tactile holes. This is followed by inserting the tactile. The adhesive needs to be fully cured before they can be walked on.
The tactile indicators come with a plug moulded to the stem when fixes the tactiles to the substrate without any adhesive. The mechanical method for installation of tactiles, is a fast and effective installation technique.
Carborundum Tactile Indicators

Tactile Solution’s DuraTact tactile indicators are manufactured from a solid piece of 316 marine grade stainless steel with an infill of carborundum insert. The architectural 316 marine grade stainless steel is highly resistant to tarnishing and corrosion.
Tactile Solution’s DuraTact Carborundum tactile indicators are designed and manufactured to comply with AS 1428.4.1:2009.
Tactile Solution’s DuraTact tactile indicators feature a highly slip resistant tactile face with a carborundum insert which transitions to a smooth, beveled outer edge. Less sturdy, two-piece carborundum tactiles that have been welded at the base and shaft are more likely to dislodge or break at the shaft. The single, solid stainless steel casting gives it superior durability and resistance to shaft dislocation. The silicone carbide non-slip infill is genuine carborundum ensuring its durability and strong non-slip quality.
